Default Car Issue

So I was puling out of a store yesterday and noticed that a car was coming at me a hell of a lot faster than the 30 mph limit and I punched the gas. Car did nothing. It didnt rev it didnt speed up it just sat at idle and ignored my foot. I had to take my foot all the way off the gas and punch it again to get out of this guys way. This has happened to me a couple times now. Anyone know why this may be happening? I really dont like the idea of the car not responding when I ask her to go. I was in drive, my car is an auto 09 RT, little over half a tank of gas and the engine was warm since I had been doing errands for about 45 minutes at that point.

This happened to me when I was at the strip....every run. I nailed it from a dead idle....nothing for what seemed like forever. It is that throttle by wire BS setup. From what I am finding out, a "tune" can help alot. But unfortunately it is a by-product of not having an actual throttle cable.

A tune will help but the fix is to simply torque the car a little just before you launch. Ease into the throttle for about 10 - 20 feet then punch it. My mods and tune are now giving me another pleasant problem. Tire smoke no matter what kind of launch I do.
