Default Dodge Challenger - Crazy Canadians Unveil Dodge Challenger Police Car

I really love reading blogs when it comes to car, specially Dodge Challenger, I am really a big fan. LOL! I really like the concept of Dodge Challenger, the exterior and interior were really awesome.

"In what might be one of the coolest police cars ever, the Edmonton Police Department unveiled a 2009 Dodge Challenger Police car complete with a roll cage with swing out bars, flashing lights and three-tone paint job. The Challenger will become a member of the EPS street legal team to help educate drivers about the dangers of illegal street racing and to promote healthy competition at legal racing venues. The Challenger police car will be shown at the 2009 Edmonton Motor Show

"We needed to bring today's muscle car into the program," says EPS Detective Terry Innis. "The Dodge Challenger is the pinnacle of today's muscle car."

It's neat but why would you get one of these if you were a cop over a charger. The Charger is more convenient, has the same engines available, weighs about the same, and is larger. The reason why cops went to the Mustangs back in the 80s was the fact that the Caprices, Crown Vics, and Diplomats were so slow that they needed the Mustang. They stopped buying them once the Caprice got to be faster and the Camaros never completely caught on when they only had the lame Crown Vic and lamer Lumina/Impala to choose from. What's more is the Camaros were actually a bit cheaper but the tax payers complained about the cost of the Camaros over a Crown Vic.

Looks to me, by the article, that it's really only met to draw attention so that they can educate the street racing crowd to be good and not street race. Basically, they have some money to burn up north and this is how they are doing it?
