2010 Challenger 20" Rims

I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the stock rims and tires on my 2010 Challenger R/T. Off the showroom floor, I got the 20 inch rims with low profile tires.

I don't like how the rims are just cheap plastic over a steel wheel. You'd think that on a $30,000 car you'd get some better rims. I'm thinking I'd like something like to old solid-face riveted Centerline rims. Anybody know of a manufacturer that makes a rim like this that fits my car?

What kind of tires do you guys recommend?

What are the advantages of the rims and tires I have NOW?

Should I just leave well enough alone?

if you can afford it i say swap them out, i don't like the clad or alcoa wheels.
its a shame that Dodge made such a beautiful car and threw these shoes on them
about the only wheels i like from the factory are the rallye classics.

also and unfortunately all of the old school wheels they are making just don't look right
in a 20" size, those rallyes that wheel vintiques make look really stupid too much
wheel from where the lugs end to the outer lip of the wheel.

personally i went with the MB KL-77s, ( my sig shows them) they have a nice ofset
and yokohama prada spec X tires in a 255-45-20"

No offense, but I don't particularly like the looks of the MB KL-77s.

I'd imagine that I'd have all kinds of brake clearance problems if I wanted to change the size of the rim. I just don't like the looks of the low profile tires and giant rims. It looks like some kind of "ghetto-cruiser".

Maybe it's just all the years of 4x4 trucks and Jeeps that I've owned. I haven't owned a CAR for almost 30 years. Truck tires always have the big sidewall and I guess I've become accustomed to that look. Hey maybe I'll slap some Wrangler Radials on the Challenger. Wouldn't that be unique.

I suppose I should just enjoy DRIVING my car and stop wanting to CHANGE things when I've only got 200 miles on the car.

Thanks for the come-back.

no offense taken, thankfully we all like different things otherwise we would
all be driving the same car.

since you have an RT you wont have brake clearance problems unless you
converted to brembos the wheels are all the same. if i remember correctly
your RT brakes are basically the same that's on my SE.
also the reason i went with the 255 over the 245 is the sidewall, i don't like the super low profile myself.
i have more sidewall on mine than your stock clad wheels and tires.

now if you really want some side wall size buy a set of 17" wheels and you can fit some 255/70s on the back and 235/70s on the front as another member as done.

Can you provide a link to these pictures?

You know, roads can be ROUGH in Wisconsin, even in summer. One of the major reasons I bought this car was to cruise up north on a summer weekend and PLAY with it. I think a bigger, softer sidewall might equal less tire problems.

I doubt I will ever want to get this car up to 160MPH anyway.

HEY. Thanks for the linky. Yeah, that worked.

Eh....I don't know if I'm thrilled about that look EITHER.

Perhaps I simply don't know WHAT I want.

I like the sidepipes tho........

I'd have to say WE'VE got the best looking cars around, no?
