I'd say Dodge seems to be trying to get the R/T Challenger priced closer to the mustang GT based on the removal of some standard features the Charger R/T has. The standout one I've noticed as that the challenger comes with cloth seats instead of leather which could lower the price by about $500-$1,000 under the charger. What other features have been taken away or added to the challenger in comparison to its charger twin? Does the Challenger come with anything standard that the charger is lacking or have they mostly stripped the extras off? I'm just trying to get an idea of where the pricing may be for the R/T challenger.

Based on what I've read on a number of sites, I'd say Dodge is actually listening to us (to some extent) and dropping some of the "creature comforts" for more "performance inspired" additions in the Challenger.
The Challenger comes with full curtain airbags - standard, where the Charger does not.
The Challenger has a sportier suspension in R/T trim than the Charger.
There are more differences between the two.

You'll need to read carefully to find all of the subtle differences....but it does make interesting reading.

doesn't sound like that will make the challenger R/T cheaper sounds like it will make it more expensive

Deleting side airbags and downgrading the suspension would certainly make the Challenger cheaper than the Charger. I'm for it (although I hate to downgrade the suspension).

there not gonna delete saftey items from the car that is just stupid cause if that were the case then get rid of all the air bags and like i said offer a live axel that would reduce the cost of the car

Cars have had front airbags for years without side airbags. When the front-only airbag was introduced, nobody said that was stupid unless they brought a side airbag too. With that said, I do not see any spec sheet that says no side airbags for the R/T.

Lets not forget or lovley govt. getting involved. Hence the 2dr hardtop look has vanished.

Who said anything about downgrading the suspension? I read of an upgrade!

**I misread Bootcamp's post** I thought he said Charger had sportier susupension than Challenger in R/T trim, but looking back, he acutally said the opposite. Which is good by me.
