When I was stationed in Okinawa I shipped my Harley as "Household Goods" to avoid the red tape. It took 700 lb out of my allotment but was well worth it! Being an American serving in a foreign land, riding/driving a piece of "Rolling American Artwork" is something worth waitning for. Trust Me.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I am hanging in there. I've been trying to stay away from the forums lately in order to keep my sanity. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for everyone that has gotten their cars. Its just that every time I see a 6-Speed SRT that was built after mine delivered into its happy owners hands, I get a little jealous, and the wait gets harder.

To top it all off, my Beater BMW is starting to give me problems. The battery doesnt like the winter weather and keeps dying on me. And there is a crack in the windshield that is starting to expand with the changes in temperature. I was hoping to be rid of it by now, and the guy Im selling to is just as eager to get it.

When she arrives, I will be sure to let you all know, and I promise to post many pics as I can. And If I get a good break in weather, I'll let you guys know how she handles the Autobahn at speed.

Speaking of the Autobahn. I have seen the picture of the 156 mi/hr speedo somewhere on this forum. I am assuming this is an SRT. Does anyone have an actual top end reading on a stock R/T?

The dealership 14 miles north of me has an orange R/T on its' showroom and a black 09 SRT in th back. Both are automatics and the salesman said that they can both be had for MSRP. Possibly a good deal on the SRT but not too good for the R/T. The local dealer has an orange SRT automatic coming in the next day or two. He is usually fair in his dealings. I was surprised that he had ordered an SRT without a firm buyer. He is still waiting on two SE's that have been ordered since June.

Sooooo, I found out this morning that Big Red has arrived in Germany. Of course, being Christmas Eve, I doubt the customs officials will get around to processing her until after the Christmas break. According to the tracking website (whereismypov.com) I can expect delivery by the 5th of January. I've got my insurance started, and everything is ready for the day I get the phone call to pick her up. Needless to say, this is going to be one loooooong Christmas Holiday.

Skids,

It looks like the wait will soon be over. Man, those last few days get just as crazy as you anticipate the day when you can push that start button. Hold on.......... I know its hard, you would not even begin to understand what I went through to get my car. But in the end, when its finally over, and your looking at her, and her beautiful lines,,,,,,,, it will bring a tear of joy in your eye. Then your first drive, well your lips will look like the Jokers, you will have a permanent grin.

The young lady that test drove my car has got her R/T on the way. She wanted a B-5 blue one but our dealership told her that they probably wouldn't be getting one. She decided she could live with a silver one. They did a dealer search and traded for one in the Milwaukee area. As soon as weather permits, It will be heading this way. It is pretty well loaded but has 18 inch wheels, automatic and stripes. The dealer wants to get all the Challengers he has sold together and take a picture. Locally he has sold 2 R/T's and 2 SRT's. One SRT he sold went to Nashville,Tn. So, the locals would be a Torred and silver R/T's and a black and orange SRT's. The black is an 08.

I saw my first Dodge commercial with a Challenger in it. It didn't mention the Challenger but it was leading a pack of other Dodge vehicles. I think they specifically mention the Ram but that is all I caught. At least Dodge is starting to capitalize on the eye appeal of the Challenger to advertise their whole line-up. Now I guess they have a few dollars for advertising.
