Default Pushbutton

I feel stupid asking this ,but when I bought my used 09 Challenger R/T 6 speed, I saw it had "keyless" go pkg. Is this just the keyfob to alarm disarm etc? I asked about the push button start and was told that it only comes on automatics?!? Is that wrong I think it is! Someone please clarify this for me I'd like my go button if it came with the car!

Your car has to have the electronic convenience group to include the keyless go. It is available on the manual and automatic transmission.

You can do it. You may have to take it out every once in a while. Mine has failed to recognize that my FOB was in the vehicle once and once to my wife. I got out of the car and looked at the FOB wondering if the battery had gone dead or not and got back in and it worked. The wife had to remove the button and use the FOB as the key. Replaced the button and it has worked for her since. I hear that there was a recall about such occurences but haven't been bothered enough to take it back. If it doesn't happen at the dealership, I doubt they would know what had happened either.

Good to know Thanks for the info. I called the dealer and they are either looking for one or something-they're supposed to call me back.

From what I was told (from my dealer) the Key Fob has to be within so many feet of the car to start/run. If at anytime the car was somehow stolen it would shutdown within 2 miles assuming you had the keyfob(S) with you. The downside of this is if you where to leave one in your jacket or purse ( women) and lock it in the trunk then someone could drive away with the car.

Yikes that would be most bad! Good tips! I know the pushbutton is really a novelty but I paid for it so I might as well have it right?![sm=exactly.gif]?
