Hello everyone.
I am a car enthusiast, and needless to say, I don't have a Challenger right yet, but plan to buy one once our Dodge Dakota is paid for this year.
I was actually at the dealership to check on a noise coming from our Dakota and there was a V6 Challenger on the lot and an R/T with the Hemi in the showroom, and I was pretty excited to see both of them in real life because up to that point I had only seen them in pictures, and they are incredible looking cars, and if I was in position to afford it I would have bought one of them yesterday.
I currently am rebuilding a 1984 Monte Carlo SS with a 350 crate motor with 290 hp. It is getting a ton of bodywork and then be painted blue (the same as the newer Impalas).
I was raised a chevy girl, thus explaining the Monte, but I married a Dodge man and I am sold on Dodge and have owned a few now for the last 10 years, and I am here to learn as much as I can about the Challenger from current owners, so that I know more about the car I am dreaming of owning sometime this year...
Thanks for having me here and I look forward to meeting everyone!!

Hope you get your Challenger soon. I have a Black R/T with the 6 speed Manual trans. And love it. As to the Monte Carlo SS . I had a brand new 83 proto type Monte Carlo SS . They made some with a specal L -69 with beefed up Turbo 350 to make the car legal for NASCAR . Sending a picture of it at Super Chevy Indy in 84 with my son standing next to it. Was only one other there . A blue one that had been trailered in . I drove mine and ran it to the semi final in Street till I broke out of my dail in by .002 . Got to meet Wally Park's at the Super Chevy Indy in 85 as I hadn't picked up my check in 84 . He remembered me from 84 and got someone to bring me up to the tower to give me my check for making the semi final in 84 . They had a proto type of the 85 car there in 84 . I suggested the rear stripe with bowtie which wasn't on the one they had . As the only thing that said or suggested it was a Chevy was Chevrolet in very small print on the wheel center cap. For over 6 months after getting the car . Everyone thought it was a custom job. And the 84 model came out in large numbers. Some of the last of the 83's made also had a metric trans. The engineer that did the work up for the car to begin with was driving it. And asked many question's about my car . And all the problem's I had with it . and promised to add the Bowtie to the spoiler . The stripe was his idea. It ended up with a Chevy collector after 3 years and I couldn't get parts for it. I still have the letter that came with the car from the Chevy General Manager. I had a new 71 R/T 340 after getting home from Nam. Good luck with getting a Challenger .

Welcome to the forum...hope you can get your new Challenger soon...I too owned a Monte Carlo SS, a blue 1985 with carrage top (fake convert look) and vette rims...nice cars...mine was stolen one night, but I recovered it after the insurance company had already paid me for it (long story)...my wife still talks about missing that car...
