Very easy to change. Follow your top radiator hose from the radiator to where it connects to the motor. The hose is connected to a housing held on by 2 bolts. Just remove those 2 bolts and wahla, there is the Tstat. The new Tstat should have a rubber ring around it to seal the housing. Just remember to drain some coolant first because it will spill some out if you dont.
Great directional video, I'll be changing it soon. However, on some other posts it was said that fan settings may need to be changed with a tuner, is that correct? I live in MD. and it gets cold, still a good idea to change out the thermostat? Thanks for a reply.
I did this mod on my 06 Daytona. I live in Maine.....no check engine lights / no codes! i did not have a tuner that would change fan settings, soooo..... it was only beneficial while driving (air flow through rad) or with the 25c fan mod used at the race track. But the car definitely had more power with the 180 stat. I raced an identical 06 Daytona (he had a stock stat ) and I was consistently 2-3 tenths quicker in the 1/4
