I'm begging all of you to please adjust your right side mirror out a little more and to pratice using it as much as you can because I'm a really old fart and have to be extra carefull driving and seeing is so important. Most of all I don't want to see any Challenger owner bang up thier car or damage it in anyway much less hurt themselves or anyone else. I agree that there is a huge blindspot but if I can over come it by using and practicing with my mirrors then I know you all can!!!

Paladin if you don't mind I'd like to ask a question? Since Tinted windows are outlawed in NJ can you tell me what windows you tinted and what degree of window tinting you used? In NJ you can tint " Back side " and " Rear " windows in no more than 35 % black or smoke tint so thats why I'm asking to see what yours look like to compare to whats allowed here. Thanks for any info you can post, Fat Cat[sm=gears.gif]

I tinted CRUSH shortly after it was delivered. My wife said tinting the windows made the car even more sexy and you know I like hearing that.

I spent a great of time today driving my car and for sure the right rear quarter/B-C Piller area is a total no view zone. I am used to driving with mirrors on the right side so it was no real big deal whatsoever for me but I can see where a lot of people (especially shorter folks) will have a big issue with this. I really didnt find parking it all that hard to judge though.

Default RE: Blind Spots/sightlines - the solution

I went and drove an R/T - it was not all that bad. I'm going to have Car Toys install a backup camera that hooks into the MyGig when my Inferno Red R/T gets here in early March. That will help getting out of the driveway in the morning, and I can easily get used to using the mirrors to change lanes.

Thanks for your comments, folks, I appreciate your wisdom, now all Ihave to do is wait...

The rear camera would be nice. Wait till sometime you have to parallel park with a Ford F-150 in front of you and a Mazda Miata behind you. It's almost impossible to see the Miata out of the rear window.

I just sold a 2006 Avalanche 2500 HD and if you think for a second that parking a Challenger is hard, trust me, go park one of those beasts. A Miata? In the AV, you wouldnt even see it at all behind you. When driving I was stunned more than once to see I actually had a car behind me. I would glance up seeing something waving around and see a little piece of its antenna sticking up! This Challenger is way easier to drive and park compared to my truck.

Yeah, Brucer, I guess it's all relative. I'm used to seeing out of the rear of my Mustang.

i wouldnt worry too much about looking before you merge... most people stare at your car and kind of vere off the side of the road.

I did notice that on the test drive, was only out about 15 minutes or so and got TONS of gawks. My wife has a Solstice, which gets plenty of looks, so I am used to it, but this was much more than usual. I'm guessing it will be easy to spot in the parking lot when I conme out of the store, it will be the one with the crowd around it.

I am thinking the camera will be very handy for backing out of the garage (downslope) and also for parking. Heck, what's another $800 on a $40k car? [8D]

One way to cure that blind spot is to get the convertible option. You won't have to worry about B pillar or tinted windows. The only tint you might need it the one on your sunglasses[8D].
