I like the concept of keeping the heat producing turbos out of the hot engine compartment. And, the fact that the car can be returned to stock condition, is a major plus....However, I am thinking that the down side will be cost......hope they can market it at a fair price..but not holding out to much hope of that.........none the less.....it's a cool set-up........and I love the sound...it sounds like a jet aircraft taking off (for this pilot, that alone would make it worth having!)

Budman congrats on being the brave soul to be the guinea pig.

I originally brought up the STS Turbo system on this website back in December of 2007 after seeing it on the PowerBlock:

https://dodgechallenger.com/forums/fb.asp?m=20579

I really like the idea and benefits of this system.

However, there is no way I would have voluntered a my car for such a project

One question I have is that in all of the projects I have seen they always remove the muffler and so all you can hear is the turbo whining up.

If that is all you hear is the whining what happens to muscle car rumble you would normally hear?

If the whine is indeed gone, is there a way or room to put muffler back on to get back the rumble. I know by the time you put the turbo over the rear axle there is not a lot of room to work with.

Budman.....your thoughts?

Based on that, my guess is you are probably in your late 20's or early 30's. So how wrong am I?

The stock muffler's well suitcase is sill there and it all starts where you unbolt the resonators a turbo on each side and piped back to the inter cooler then to the inlet to the motor. On my car I can increase or decrease the boost inside the car with a switch. you still get the sound out of the tailpipes but when you jump on it you here the turbos. Any member of this forum that is in Vegas on Nov 8th and would like to go for a ride I am sure you will be impressed [sm=yikesomg.gif]
I could install this kit myself if I wanted to it is that good of a kit it is not a universal kit it is a Challenger kit and they also have dealers all over the US that can install it and tune it for you.

Jerimaiah I just turned 21 took ownership of my vessel at 20.

But I love that sound it just "sounds fast"

I love my MEAN TONE coming out of my pipes but that sounds like the turbo in my mom's GTC !!! I've taken out the GTC a few times and you should have seen the look on peoples faces when they hear that little jet noise (The Bentley sounds awesome but not as awesome as that Charger) , I couldn't imagine the reaction I would get in a TT 425HP V8 !!!!

BUDMAN I LOVE IT !!!!

Budman, that is interesting. So from I am understanding it sounds like you can hear the rumble of a V-8 until you jumb on it and you hear the whine.

I would have to hear it but it sounds like you get the best of both worlds. Very nice!

So a quick question. What made you decide a turbo vs a super and why did you pick STS?

Think I'll wait for a proven SC, no turbo lag.
