cancelled my rt classic order today
#21
I've been driving my white R/T since Saturday.
I can't remember the last time I saw so many people just turn and stare.
I drove past the local Chevy dealer, who was doing a big "Camaro introduction" event, with the tent and everything.
I thought really hard about pulling in and parking next to the pedistal, just to see what kind of a reaction I might get. (I thought better of it, though. I buy my GM parts there, and they have been decent to me. No sense in pizzing them off. )

Not cancelling my RT Classic order yet
I too am upset over not getting my car yet, I ordered mine November 6, 2008 for a 2009 model. I was told it was available to order when in fact it was not. So the dealer got my $5000.00 deposit back in November and did not actually order my car until January 26, 2009 it has been in D status for months until the announcement a couple weeks ago now it is in BG status. I believe the dealer lied about when the order could be placed to get the deposit to show profit for the month. I am seeing other cars same color, options etc as mine ordered in February and the cars have been delivered, this too is very upsetting. At least the dealer I ordered from is not one on the chopping block or I would have called Chrysler and changed the order to have it sent to another dealer. So for now I will wait, I was told this is going to be a limited edition and won't be produced after the 2009 model by the sales manager at my dealer.

floobs, I feel for you, but if I were you I would begin a search for what you want because there is no guarantee you will get your car.
Sounds like they pulled a fast one on you just to get your deposit, so I would not trust them to tell you the truth. You may or you may not, and the sales manager doesn't know any more than you and I. JMHO

By chance does it have a six speed in it? I don't know if one end is communicating with the other, but when I ordered mine in Oct and waited six months for nothing to show up, I spoke with Chrysler and they said that there was something wrong with the order that was placed. I talked with the dealer and they said that there was nothing wrong with it, that it was just taking a while. I'm not sure which one to believe on that one since it sat in BG status, I think, the entire time it was on order. I'm leaning towards Chrysler. I would say check with them, but you know what they would say at this point with what's going on.

My dad's B5 classic order was placed in Jan/Feb I think, and it's finally in the shipping process. Over the last weekend, we heard it was in MI waiting for a driver to deliver it to the dealership.

I must be one of the lucky ones. I ordered my Silver R/T J-package with 6-speed on February 26, 2009, right before the Employee Pricing came to an end. I waited for (what seemed like an excrutiating) 8-weeks (dealer quoted 4-10 weeks from date of order). I took delivery on April 23, 2009, and I haven't been able to remove the grin from my face .
Checking online for dealer inventories, they show less than 20 total Challengers (all models) within a 150 radius of Central PA. If you're impatient and unsure about an order, grab one while the gettin' is good.

I read on the Chrysler page yesterday that the Challenger is slated to be built in 2010 and 2011 still. I also read the brampton plant should be online this month. I hope to once again order the exact B5 Classic that i want from another Dodge dealer in my area. My first attempt was with a dealer that was severed. Does anyone have conflicting data?
