Look at Chryslers record, who would have dreamed that the PT would have a convertible?? (or the Lebaron) They will build a Challenger convertible and I'll be first in line . IMO

Only if I can have a Targa Top. That B-Pillar's gotta be good for something!

All I can tell you is I have heard that from a fairly reliable source there will not be a convertible and Allpar says there will.

We will have to wait and see. Sorry to give you bad news even though is not official.

We're still on the same page, as crazy as it may sound, if they already make the Sebring as a retractable hardtop and with all the competition offering convertibles then I just have to think that it is that much more possible, but then again I guess that would mean that they would have to be thinkin logically too LOL. If they wanted to really be logical then they would make a 'cuda retractable hardtop convertible too but I don't think I'll hold my breath.

First time poster, but long time reader... I check out many different sites & forums to get the buzz out there. For whatever reason Jeremiah 29:11 has a hard on against Allpar and is very proud of his allegiance to this site and his insider information. I look at all the info and read between the lines for myself. For anyone to say there will NEVER be a droptop is quite brave. Speculate all you want, but if the company sees strong sales and sees potential profit I wouldn't count out a convertible in later production years.

pinkpanther,

I think we all know it is a possibility, but without healthy contrarianism - where would the fun be 8^) *wink* of course they will build the convertable, all the signs are there. The true question is when - perhaps when the sales start to sag? Maybe with the debut of a 'Cuda model. Ah, it is the *when* that is question, not the whether.

It is ALL just a wait and see,

What I want to see right now is the pricing and options! I have a decision to make '08 or '09? The suspense is killing me. I am first on the list at one of the largest volume Dodge dealerships in NH - this is getting soooo stressful, right now a convertable would only complicate the matter more.

So let me clear up a few misconceptions. I do not mind if someone wants to quote the other forum, but when they take it as gospel truth and talk as if it is the truth
that is taking it a little too far. They have been wrong before and can be again as we all can.

Early in the growth of this forum some things were mentioned about the other forum by our leaders as such I respect their wishes.

As such, I do not widely advertise the other guys nor do I talk about them as though they were gospel.

I enjoy being a moderator (and getting paid the big bucks for doing so.......ROFL) and facilitating and keeping good discussions clean when I can.

If you want to know more about what our leaders think here you go:

https://dodgechallenger.com/forums/fb.asp?m=7075

https://dodgechallenger.com/forums/fb.asp?m=3301

If it seems like I come across as harsh, I apologize for that. After 2 years, of hearing about the other guys.....it gets kind of old.

By the way this is a family friendly forum and using the expression "hard on" will not be tolerated. If you are a long time reader then please reread the rules especially #1 and #13:

https://dodgechallenger.com/forums/rules.asp

That being said, pinkpanther54494 welcome aboard and enjoy the forum.

If I am wrong about the convertible, any company can change it's marketing decision as the market dictates.

Jim Press is 60 years old and at best he has another 5 years. Cerebrus is in it for the short haul and I am sure they will have an exit strategy. Having a convertible for a few as they will sell, I do not believe is one of them. I just hope they do not sell to China.
