GM targets Gays for Camaro.
Check out this GM advertising strategy for the Camaro. Imagine if Dodge tried this with our Challengers. It would bring new meaning to the phrase "ram tough":

Wait, you're saying that those driving Camaro's are more happy? Oh wait...you mean the new meaning of the word gay, not the old meaning...........wow, who would've thought..............
"Real mean drive Challengers........not Camaros........"

well, you have to be so careful what you say.
I always thought Camaros were more of a "chick's" car
I have encountered two Camaros while on the road in Challenger. I think both Camaro drivers were at best rude..mostly stupid.
In one instance, I was waiting to turn right at a stop light. Camaro pulls up behind me...like right on bumper. Light changes and he stays on my bumper as we make the turn. I go wide and let him come next to me, and I try a friendly wave. He floors it. I let him go as that stretch of road is known speed trap.
Second instance Camaro guy cuts me off, then shifts lanes, and stays just a couple car lenghts ahead, sometimes just running the 'pink" lights to stay just ahead of me. Unfriendly as car guys go, and perhaps wimpy to put car to the test fairly.

The question that comes to my mind is "was this a move that the Government pushed them towards doing?"
This is not a wise marketing move because it potentially alienates a popular customer segment and to a large degree the customer segment that will generally buy a pony/muscle car. I have long been a critic of using sex like this to sell a product because it alienates people who view this stuff as immoral (either way). Clean humor is the best approach like the "Does that thing got a Hemi?" commercials because it appeals directly to what people really care about the product instead of wasting people's time with something that is entirely unrelated to the product or service being sold. Unless the car is being sold with the people to wash it, it is irrelevant and does not belong in a commercial as it is not part of the offer.
Also, please remember to be respectful others who are on this forum and keep your discussions civil with each other; otherwise, the thread might have to be locked.

Well, doing a Google search, it looks like this ad didn't make it through all of the departments at GM. Just enough departments to get out there and for everyone to see it.
Pardon the source, but Google doesn't discriminate.
