i think that ive posted this before, but with regards to the "bugs" comment..
a few people whom i know who work for chrysler have commented that in their years with the company (i think that all three of them have been there for 10-15 years), they have never seen a car that went through SO much testing. dodge really wants to get this right, the first time out...which is one of the reasons for using the auto trans...

Every dealer is supposed to get at least one... so if you placed your order in the #1 position... and they ordered it... it should be yours. The one thing you might want to be aware of is they could be trying to lead you to believe that YOUR order is in a lower status and they are going to try to sell it up to the highest bidder... maybe? See if you can get the VON (vehicle order number) and call Dodge to check status. Maybe they have different information? Cheers... and Good Luck!

My wife wa in the dealer getting her Caravan serviced last week and it appears that they have sold 3 Challenegers and 2 of them will not be numbered. I'm first in ine with the documentation and mine's the numbered one. She claims their was tension in the air among the sales people over the 3 on order and only one 2008. I've got my paperwork and I'm good to go for a Silver one!

With your Vehicle Order Number (VON) in hand call: 1-800-992-1997 and go thru the prompts. When a live body comes on the line tell them you are trying to confirm order status on a car. You may have to tell them you have the VON and offer it up to them. If they can't give you status call back and talk with a different rep. I had to call twice to get the info. First rep. couldn't figure it out I guess, but the second rep. was able to find it fine. This is one way to get the status directly from Dodge and not have to worry if the dealer might be up to something no good. Good Luck!!

Hoping there won't be many for those lucky/impatient/wealthy enough to get an '08.
I'd think since most of the components in the Challenger are already tested and proven/from the Magnum, Charger and 300, the only things that would be different are the length of "lines", driveshaft (should make that stronger), a slight change in the wiring harness, and a few different/new electronic items. The "guts" of the system should be basically the same, wouldn't you think?

Wonder how many bugs you'll have to deal with. Sorry. As with ANY car, I want one much later in the production run.
