Default Dodge Challenger Engineering Mule Spotted

I found this little tidbit of information on leftlane news. Here is the link.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/2008-dod...html#more-4976

the Dodge Challenger engineering mules have been photographed. The article states that the front end clip of the Challenger has been grafted onto Dodge Charger vehicles. Can someone expound on this information.

To my knowledge, it does not seem probable. I always believed that the test mules were early vehicles to test out all the diagnostics, how things run, engine and tranny performance, suspension, rolling gear, and electronic controls etc.

However, wouldn't Chrysler choose to run the test mules on the new updated LC platform? Or is it too soon to be testing on the new platform? The production car is only one year away from the marketplace.....shouldn't it really be the LC platform?

Any and all information clarifying this would be appreciated the the DCX faithful.

P.S. Isn't the running of test mules a guarantee that the Challenger will make it to production despite all this talk about selling Chrylser.
