Sounds like you are more interested in owning a car 30+ years from now than owning a house 30 years from now.
Just a simple philosophy that might help you. Be frugal while you are young (invest and save wisely) then when you
are older you can buy and own the nicer things. Spend wastefully when you are younger and you will struggle
to have money when you are older and even tougher trying to retire young.
Paladin06 is already retired probably twice (military) and so he can afford to to this.
I know many people who make 6 figures but are broke because they are in debt all the time.
You parent may not have taught you this and neither did mine, but I learned from very smart people early in my career and I have taught of my sons
those same philosophy.
A person in their 20's can be millionaires in their forties if they live frugally. Notice I did not say miserly.
If you really want the car in the first year, just find a dealership that won't try to rip you off. Maybe buy it in the 2nd half of the year.
