RE: Not Another Mustang
Ford is killing me! I sure hope DCX is taking note!!
So Ford is going to make another mega-bucks Mustang, the GT500KR (“Dream Team,” April 9). Since I have kids, a pony car is too small, regardless of how powerful it is. The homely Pontiac G6 is too narrow and is only a 2+2, so it’s out. While I’ve read that Ford is considering a two-door Fusion, I would prefer a bigger coupe with rear-wheel drive and a V8. I would much rather Ford spent time and effort developing a five-passenger, midsize two-door off a stretched/widened Mustang’s platform. With a nicely equipped V6 model for about $25,000 and a V8 performance model for about $30,000, Ford should be able to sell enough to be profitable. Thomas Calcagno, Chicago
