Default RE: Priced out a Charger the way I want my Challenger

ORIGINAL: bigwhitebird29

For those of you who want to wait until there are more options, lower cost, other breeds, etc. that’s cool, I can dig that. That leaves a better chance for me to get my hands on one next spring.
But I might remind you of a known fact about the valuable muscle cars of the past. (and I promise this car WILL be a collector) In MOST cases, earlier models are more valuable than later models regardless of options. Hence, in 30 years, my stock no options 2008 dodge challenger will be worth more than your 2009 dodge challenger with options that you will probably or probably not pay more for than I do for mine.

Thats a good of putting it but look at the 70 and 71 cudas. 71 by far is worth more, and looks better by far.. I perfer to wait a year for the bugs to work out. If you consider the body is going to be exact from 2008 to 2009 and the motors are exact then 2008 and 2009 models will be worth around the same in the collectors market. That is unless 2009 they put shaker hoods on or even 6.4L then the 2009 will be worth more in the end. But to say its going to be worth more before the car is even out or not knowing what is to come in 2009 is a little much.
