Default RE: I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY 70 CHALLENGER

The timing would be the same as factory specs,If the cam is stock. Is the car automatic trans or straight drive. Is the distributor a stock item with a vac diaphram or an after market type electronic or dual point. For the street, I prefer a vac diaphram, electronic. You can look up the factory specs on the internet. The carb and intake do not change the timing specs, though I do think you could add some timing with good gas. Also the timing is added as you accelarate, then retarded as you reach high RPM. The vac advance is used at idle. You could add some lighter springs inside the dist for a quicker advance. But I think if you go after market, they already have an aggressive advance.
