RE: challenger of an unkown year
It is a 1970. Challengers that year were built from August 1, 1969 (HEY RLSH700--CHANGE THE TIMELINE-CHALLENGERS WERE FIRST BUILT ON FRIDAY AUGUST 1, BUT DIDN'T HIT SHOWROOM FLOORS UNTIL EARLY SEPTEMBER!) until about June 15, 1970. If you look on the fender tag, there will be a code that reads "000". That is the upper door frame code. Challengers don't have upper door frames, so that is why there is three sets of zeroes. Now, if you look at the code to the right of it, that is your date code. It will read 8 for August, 9 for September, A for October, B for November, and C for December. Now the two numeric codes correspond with the calender date, for example C15 reads December 15.
Also, while the 72-74 challengers used universal indicators that were in use until 1979 or '80. The '70-'71 Challengers actually shared indicator lights with the Dart ranges! However, if you kids really want to make to killing on Ebay, grab the front turn signal indicators and side markers off the '70-'71 Furys. The front marker lights are the same as the Superbird, and the side markers are used on the overpriced 'Cudas that grace the Barrett-Jackson auction floor.
