Yes but also rummors of the new mercedes gullwing having 750-1000 hp and the new corvette c-7 having 700-750 hp makes one wonder if just maybe. Also the G-force 71 Cuda built by Johnson's Hot Rod Shop with 870 Hp means almost anything is possible.
Many of those rumors came from more credible sources though. You have to remember that. Also it is possible that producing a 550hp Camaro might threaten the sales of the Vette Z06, remember that.
