I agree with jdb840, too much for the street. What you want to do with a stall converter is to put the engine at the ideal power spot when you release the trans brake. Or if your foot braking it you want to take it up to about 500 rpms less than your stall and flash the converter. 5000 would be for a track only. Stop and go traffic would be murder. If you plan on streeting it, then I would opt for a 2800 -3500. I use a 2800 stall on the street and its just right for what I need. What rpm does the 340 red line at? Mine is set for 6000. If I had a 5000 stall I would not get much out of 1st gear. So it depends on what its use will be.
