The problem with making an illogical statement like give 110% or 200% is then people ask, why give 200% when you can give 300%, why give 300% when you can give 1,000,000%, why give 1,000,000% when you can give 1,000,001%? What they should say is redefine what 100% of your work is making what used to be 100% a mere 90%, or simply say, set a new benchmark to establish a higher quality 100%.

This all reminds me of a joke from Monk "I want all of you to give 100%." "But our old coach told us to give 110%." "No Julie, that is mathematically impossible." "But I'm going to give 110%." "Okay, put in 110%, but Julie, you only put in 90%."
