EVENT - Mopar lovers rejoice. The 18th Annual Northern Mopars show and shine is at Canada Olympic Park on Saturday.
"This is our showcase event," says club president Larry Gammon. "This is the big one for us."
The show routinely attracts between 165 and 170 A.M.C., Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler products, with some special interest vehicles also in the mix.
"We love to see some of the odd-ball vehicles that are powered by Chrysler engines," Gammon says. "We've had a 1949 Ford with a 392 Hemi here before."
This year is a salute to 40 years of the Dodge R/T (Road and Track) model designation and the Plymouth GTX car. Both debuted in 1967.
Dodge R/T cars included the Coronet R/T,
Challenger R/T and Charger R/T -- the last has recently returned to the showroom floor.
Registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon, $20 for vehicle judging or $10 for non-competition showing. Show and shine until 4 p.m. Call Larry at 243-4703, e-mail
