I have hooker headers on mine as well. I have the same problem with the wire boots on the passenger side header. Plus it's a pain to remove and install, you have to raise the motor a little to get it out.
I've heard that the TTI headers are the best fitting out there, but they come with a heafty price tag though. When I decide to buy new headers this is what I will be getting.
