The Dodge Challenger will come out in March as a ’08 model. The first batch of Challengers, about 5,500 units will all be SRT8s with
automatic gearboxes priced at around $38,000. In July 2008, Dodge will begin production of the ’09 models which will be offered with three engine choices: 3.5L V6, 5.7L V8 and 6.1L V8 HEMIS.
Way to drop the ball Chrysler by not offering a manual tranny!

I didn't see anywhere in the above or the link(s) where there would
not be a manual transmission in the Challenger.
The ONLY thing
I've heard that excludes the 6 speed manual transmission is the "initial" 5500 units in the 2008 model year. The only reason I put stock in that is because it comes from reliable sources (more than one).
EVERY indication that I've seen/heard/read is that Chrysler
will make the 6 speed Tremec available AFTER the initial 5500 2008 models. Why would they fit a 6 speed to the production car in Vegas if it wasn't at least "in the works"? That would be a huge waste of time and resources, which makes no sense to me. I can't see Cerberus doing that.
