RE: So who's placing their order on Monday December 3rd.?
I'm so sick of hearing people bashing the Charger - "bucket of bolts" and such other crap.
Why the attitude and derrogatory remarks? Have you owned a new (2005-2008) Charger? Was it a lemon? Did it ever strand you? OR is it simply because the car has four doors? Big deal!
If it was named anything OTHER than Charger, would it be less or more of a well built, dependable, powerful AMERICAN MADE car that uses the best and latest technology available - MUCH of which will be used in the Challenger?
Aren't they basically the same car - with only a slightly different wheelbase, skin, and 2 less doors?
I drive a PT Cruiser (MOPAR). My wife drives a Charger R/T (again, MOPAR) (no imports in OUR driveway!) and it's an excellent car - stylish, reliable, powerful, fast, and STILL gets 25+ MPG! Ours is completely stock and I'd put it up against any other STOCK vehicle from any other manufacturer in the same size/price range for comfort, safety, mileage and style - on or off the dragstrip!
Maybe the "loathers" are pi$$y because the Charger concept wasn't the same as the production car.....maybe there are HUGE differences between the two. But to call the Charger a "bucket of bolts" is WAY out of line.
Maybe their ANGER should be directed toward DCX and NOT the car for changing it's configuration between concept and production (IT doesn't know how many doors it has). OR you can direct your pent-up frustration toward Cerberus for limiting production of the 2008 Challenger to just 5000 units (the dealers on eBay are reporting 4500 units available) so the stealerships can GOUGE the loyal MOPAR customers for MSRP + $10,000.00 (reserve not met) and putting it beyond the reach of the average guy.
Direct your anger/frustration where it belongs. All of the b*tch*ng about "history" won't change a thing.
Here's an idea - Lets try posting something POSITIVE instead of the incessant and habitual "negative comments".
