They're thinking enough with all the PC crowd and hybrids (again, I have no issue with electric...just the smarmy more righteous than thou garbage that goes with it) and they are selling something that seems like traditional solid American principles POWER and ATTITUDE.
I hope they have success in their sales and that this country takes a turn toward a more unapologetic manly posture as a people. Not a metro-ed up, sensitive, half men eating tofu burgers and drinking double vanilla machiado lattes.
Give me a bourbon up, a greasy burger and a car with grunt!
Well the other problem that these press outlets don't seem to understand is hybrids are only popular on a few models. There are more hybrids that have failed to catch on than have actually been successful (Accord hybrid, Insight, etc.). Honda mentioned it has decided to switch tactics to diesels before long. The only company that has really been successful with the whole Hybrid thing is Toyota. Everyone else hasn't been as successful at it.
Unfortunately they will be offering hybrids in the Durango/Aspen before long and from the press releases I have read, they are planning to continue in their production. The problem is they don't get the mileage they are rated at, they cost more, they are a safety hazard, and many of them are ugly.
