RE: Just order 4 Challenges today!
Hey Guys I don't post much but read all posts and I have to say something about this discussion, I have been down that road in many Muscle cars I am 50 years old and have had many Muscle cars. I have worked for Dan Gurney and Carroll Shelby as a fabricator. Ive worked for dealers as a tech and a salesman so i know the business. With the big three coming in line with pony's the competition will be good and although I am a Mopar fan I will find a Pony car that will fit my budget, so I could get a Bemmer or something in that class ( my girl friend has a 335ci and its wicked ) for the money i would spend for a Pony car but not my taste. I think that if a car manufacture can sell the car they will build as many as they can in mere numbers there will be more profit in that than in limited numbers. So the hype is new now and eventually it will be more competitive so the price will be reasonable. I don't care if it will be a collector car because i probably wont be around when it does I just want to drive the Pony car and have a lot of fun with it. I have never paid MSRP and wont I usually buy over invoice ( I have a good friend who is a fleet mgr so i can buy that way). Yes right now its a dealer dream but wont be for long and they will sell for a better price. And with only 1 to 2 cars per dealer how much do they think it will cover their overhead. So for the dealer its the numbers that will be in their favor. Im sure that next year this time there will be a lot of Challengers on the lots and will sell for a fair price. That's my 2 cent on this.
