Default Merry Christmas

One of my favorite traditions during Christmas is to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas". This is a timeless cartoon
because it talks about why we celebrate Christmas. Here is the cartoon excerpt:

Charlie Brown: Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?

Linus Van Pelt: Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about.

[moves toward the center of the stage]

Linus Van Pelt: Lights, please.

[a spotlight shines on Linus]

Linus Van Pelt: "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"

[Linus picks up his blanket and walks back towards Charlie Brown]

Linus Van Pelt: That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Did you know that what Linus quotes is directly from the Bible in Luke Chapter 2-8-14 ?

How can such a man have such an impact more than anybody else in the world that we celebrate his birth
during Christmas and his resurrection during Easter. Well it is because he is the Son of God.

See Jesus came into this world by a manger to reach a lost and dyeing world by dyeing on an old rugged cross.
So Christmas isn't about giving gifts to each other (which we do also), but it is about the greatest gift ever given.

The birth and death of Jesus Christ, and our walk with him. So this Christmas consider the gift that God has
given you two thousand years ago, and think about your walk with him. Don't let Christ birth and death be in
vain, make sure your ready to meet him face to face. Accept the gift of eternal Life, God has already purchased
it for you, wrapped it with his love, and sent it to you by way of the cross.

I hope you enjoy all of your old family Christmas traditions and some of you may start new ones that your children
and greatgrand children will cherish and remember. But don't forget to teach them about Jesus because their lives
will be blessed all of their days of their lives.

Jesus is truly the reason for the seaon.

I wish you guys and gals a very Merry Christmas.
