Default RE: Dodge Announces Production #'s for 2008 Challenger...

ORIGINAL: Justinec101
Probably not but cerberus doesnt seem very concerned with where chrysler threw their money in the past, they're more worried about what's costing them now. The PT cruiser convertibles and magnum were only around a couple years and they've already axed those. I get the feeling the Challenger is only making it this far because chrysler had already announced it and was basically gearing up for production.
The Magnum was produced for 4 model years and the PT convertible for 5 model years. The Challenger will stick around as long as sales are decent, it has never been in any danger of being cancelled, it's going to make a lot of money for Chrysler. While the "focus" is getting heavier on fuel efficient vehicles, it doesn't mean that large cars are going to go away. Not every family can fit into, or will want to drive around in a Prius. The Challenger V6 will get around 24-25 highway mileage which isn't all that bad for the vehicle class.
