To your point Jeremiah, I was thinking today of how they spin carbon fiber and other cutting edge textiles w/ resins to produce jet fuselages (that having to be enduring some serious stress), I wonder at what point the automotive industry is going start questioning its (or prioritizing probably more accurately) its production approaches....the one they're using right now is a refined version of something that has a lot of length in the tooth.

I wonder if they'll ever be able to cast body/frame components out of non traditional materials or spin threads onto molds like the fuselages....of course all in an effort to produce stiffer lighter frames for higher performance and enhanced safety. The downside I was thinking of was replacement parts and repairs for accidents.
