Hello there Guys,

And can you please tell me why everyone is concerned about the weight of the Chally?

First of all, the car is a CHALLENGER, not a "Chally." Absolutely NOBODY who had one of the 1970-1974 models EVER drove a "Chally." The new cars cost considerably more than the original models, so please give the new cars the respect they, too, deserve. Also, this is America, not England. We watch televisions and drive Challengers, not "tellys" and "Challys."

Seriously, the concern over the weight arises from its affect on performance. A heavier car, logically, can't run as fast as a lighter car (assuming both have similar engines). In the case of the V-6, which you probably want for gas mileage (in addition to keeping your insurance rates down), the heavier the car, the harder the engine has to work -- which would cut your gas mileage.

Well I'm VERY sorry to insult you. ALSO, YOU should know I'm NOT from England and I dont watch a TELLY.[sm=badidea.gif] I have seen this god aweful word used in this forum and felt it was perfectly "Legal" [sm=guilty.gif] to use here, but you sure did tell me. [sm=jawdrop.gif]

However I will thank you for your answer to my weight question, I completely understand that a heavier car is slower, the concern over milli seconds I would like to know how many of you are going to be taking the Chal [sm=oopssign.gif] oopps sorry Dodge Challenger out to the drag strip?
