While it's always sad to see someone pass on, I guess I'm not surprised. He constantly set incredibly difficult (almost unrealistic) deadlines for his employees to meet. The stress he put on his guys and himself was extreme. He went through a number of very talented craftsmen because of the frenetic pace and overtime demands he placed on them. I'm actually a little surprised he kept so many for so long.
It was probably be a massive M I that did him in.
Chip Foose worked under him for a while. It is said to see him go.
