Went to the Glen about ten years ago. Dale Earnhardt broke his clavicle the week before - and he still qualified on the pole for the Bud At The Glen race. Awesome - and I was never an Earnhardt fan. Had Hospitality Tickets at the Bud tent - Kenny Schrader back then. Had breakfast with him and the Bud girls. (Ooh la la!) LOL
166,000 fans at the Bristol race - always sold out. Hard to believe they can fit that many at a half mile track - until you're trying to get out of there after the race.
Yup, food and drink prices are high at the races, but no worse than any other professional sports venue.
We needed a break from reality. Mom stayed with the kids and we had a chance to forget our responsibilities for four days. It was a nice change - like we were dating again.
I didn't want to come back home, but she MADE ME.
