I was told once by a "west texaner" that once you get to the rural West Texas roads, the cops are pretty tolerant for non-linear observation of speeding legislation....ahem...meaning they let people do what is necessary or at least what is fun and innocuous....

Does anyone have any confirmation of this? (not necessarily relegated to Texas, AZ & NM are included in the scope or even Mid-West for good measure)....

Seems like if you're out so ridiculously far from other humans you could kill via your lust for adventure, seems like there should be some common sense in the mix???
