Got me. When I bought my '86 Monte Carlo SS it was missing a rear sway bar. Just adding a small 3/4" bar helped tremendously. I ended up doing major work and getting heavier bars down the road - but anti-sway bars (or even upgrading the ones you have) are about the best bang for the buck for handling.
