Thats a very good analogy, I like that. The last kind of true stock car ( bodies only) was indeed back in the 70's and older. When under nascar rules the cars had to fit with-in .70" of the actual manufactured car template, chrome bumpers and tin plates over the light holes. Those were the days when racing was racing.
