It's hard to believe that Dodge is have problems with the slightly shortened Charger frame that has been used on all SRTs for the past 3 years, especially since the hp remains at 425. If the rumor is true, I am more inclined to believe they are having problems with engines having much higher hp (e.g., Challenger SS 6.4L).
Also, some speciality companies, like HXC Performance are already developing cars with up to 800 hp. HXC wil be touring a 550 hp 'Cuda nationally among the various Dodge dealerships. HXC will be offering a 345, 370, 392, or 426 engine in the 'Cuda. They will come in the following forms: Stage I- all new engine internals, Stage II- Vortech Supercharger, or Stage III- Upgraded Vortech Supercharger with lower compression dished pistons. See:
