The SRT Challenger comes standard with Goodyear Eagle RS-A all-weather tires (P245/45ZR20) and a $50 option for Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires (P245/45ZR20, front and P255/45ZR20 rear).
In doing some research, neither tires are highly rated. The RS-A tires, despite being an "all-weather" tire, do not perform well in snow or ice. They are also noisy, stiff, hydroplane in the rain, and wear rapidly (260 AA). The only plus is that they only cost $133 ea. to replace.
The F1 supercar tires are very soft, frequently pick up road debris, wear out quickly (220 AAA), hydroplane in the rain, do not handle well below 80 degrees, and are expensive to replace ($263 ea. at Tirerack). Burnouts will be expensive!
Since I intend to drive my car in cold weather, I chose the RS-A. I, however, am not happy with the choice and will upgrade to a Bridgestone Potenza or Michelin Pilot when they wear out.
Does anyone have experience with these tires?
What did you guys opt for on your Challengers?
(Note- No spare comes with the SRT because of the Brembo brakes. You get a can of fix-it-flat).

the $133.00 price you have listed on the RS-A's are for
V-rated tires (up to 149 mph). The actual replacement is
Y-rated tires (up to 185 mph) and cost $221.00 each
Hoping GoodYear makes the Assurance Triple Tread's in P245/45ZR20 for the Challenger at some point soon. I've been running them on my PT Cruiser (all year round in upstate NY). They've been excellent so far.....80K mile tread life, grip like a vise on dry OR wet roads, good in snow (not great, but good - but I'm not going to drive my 09 Challenger in the snow anyway), and the 16" ones cost around $140.00 each.
Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.
