Yeah, but they are largely energy independent because they decided to be this way. Granted they have a better environment for growing sugar cane, they use a lot of alcool (ethanol, that they put some chemical that nauseates into so that lushes don't buy their hooch at the gas station).

We could do this too, and have the members of OPEC become less in control or influential in our affairs.
