Greg is correct, that tracking software on the Dodge.com site was set up only for 2008
SRT8 cars, because some have been waiting over 18 months for word about the car.
The only way to know when a VIN is assigned would be on DealerConnect but it is a
secure site available only to dealers. Salesmen do not normally have the login and
password because access means I could order cars, cancel orders, change colors and
equipment etc....the owner wouldn't think it was funny if 30 green Journeys showed
up. You see what I mean. I have the managers login because he got tired of me asking
him twice a day about the Challengers I have coming, and he trusts me. When you check
with your salesman, and he claims not to know anything, he is probably telling the truth.
With all of my cars I checked them twice a day until they went from C to D status and
got VINs. So if yours salesperson can convince the manager to look at your car every
day for the next 30 days, you'd be in good shape...
