Default RE: CHILL OUT !!!

I originally was going to go out and order one as soon as Dodge announced they would actually be produced. I got all caught up in the excitement of reliving my youth and wanting to be the first kid on the block to be driving a new Challenger. Then I got to thinking how long I have waited for the opportunity to own another Challenger and realized that buying a first year Challenger was probably not a good idea. Even though much of the technology is proven because of platform sharing with the Charger and 300 there are still alot of differences and new things being used on the Challenger that are not proven yet. I also had a pretty good idea that there would be a real demand for the first ones off the line and that dealers would take advantage of this and charge a premium for the chance of getting one. I want mine right when I get it and I want a good deal also. I have a feeling that this fall there will be a flood of Challengers coming from the factory and sitting on dealers lots, especially given the direction gas prices are headed and that by then or early winter that the 09's will have been "sorted out" and dealers will be a little more willing to deal. Maybe even by then incentives may be offered seeing as how new car sales reports are bleak and people are demanding fuel efficient vehicles. Right now I'm content to wait a little longer although it'll be harder when I see the first new one on the street (lucky &*%$#) !
