Default RE: Protect Your VIN #

By law the VIN must be in site when the car is parked. Not just in my state, but all 50.
This was a problem with Cars until the advent of the key chip. Dodge has used a computer chip in keys since 2002. You can have a key cut that can unlock a door, but without the tuned fob, just a cut key wont start the beast.
The one time I lost my keys, and locked myself out of my 04 neon it took a special locksmith and 2 hours to get me back on the road. Even with AAA it cost 400+.
I locked myself out of my 05 Dakota, but thought I was wise and had a hide a key made. It unlocked the doors but would not start the car.
