Ahhh... gotcha! I might add then that I believe one of those digits is a check digit that has to add up to make the vin# meet a certain numeric value... if that makes any sense to you fatcat. It would be the digit in question I believe so that could be the culprit. Could be any alpha or numeric character. Let me try some and get back to you. Cheers!
