RE: Dealer that couldnt shoot straight story
Sounds to me like someone 'bought' the car on a Sat and drove off in it. Then, when Monday rolled around the dealership discovered that the customer could not finance a bicycle much less a car and they got it back. By then the customer had driven it (ran the hell out of it) all weekend and put 200 miles on it. That dealer is screwed in my opinion. Why would anyone pay that much for a used car, especially one that has had the piss run out of it, when they can simply order a new one for MSRP?
According to the Dodge website the lifetime warranty on the drive train only applies to the original owner. So if the car is used the warranty on the drive train will not be valid. This might be a bargning point if you wanted to persue that car. I would point out the warranty problem and offer them $5k below MSRP and watch their reaction.
