A kid will damage there 1st car it is a fact of life
On one of the prime time news shows, I believe 20/20 they had installed a camera in a car with young girls driving and you could see the girl go through stop signs and red lights which is common at this age because of lack of experience.
Again I say drive an older Challenger with a 318 and build on that. The 318 is a respectable engine anyways and you would have fun with the kids working on it.
