Default RE: WHO HAS A 2009 ON ORDER?

The email finally went through! I think my subject "2009 Challenger Status Question" was too long. I just sent it as "Status Question" and it worked fine.

Here is the email I sent, edited slightly for privacy reasons:

Hello,

I am a US Soldier stationed in Germany. I am also a member of an online community of people who either own Challengers or currently have one on order. Back in May I placed my order for a 2009 Challenger SRT8 through Exchange New Car Sales. (www.encs.com) Being that my dealer is not a Chrysler employee, he cannot give me any detailed information on my order.

I do know from the online community that a large number of 2009 Challengers have been delivered. Most have gone towards dealer stock and the rest have gone to customers with pre-orders that were placed WELL AFTER mine. I find that fact disturbing, to say the least.

Now I will be the first to admit that I havent got a clue as to how your company processes orders and assigns build dates. But it seems to me that in the interest of fairness, Chrysler would fill their pre-orders first, and at least attempt to do so in the order they were received! It is apparent however, that this is NOT the case.

The last update I received from my dealer was that I am in "D" status and I have a VIN. That was over 3 weeks ago. Since then, I have watched with disappointment as dealers get their stock filled. If I were in the United States, I might be tempted to cancel my order and attempt to purchase one of these vehicles. But then again, I've heard some outrageous reports of "Market Adjustments" in excess of $10,000 being tacked on to the base price by these greedy dealers. So I doubt I would even be able to afford an R/T from them. At that price, it would be cheaper to purchase a Corvette! If I went that route, not only would I get superior performance, but I'd also save on gas mileage as well!

However, the majority of the vehicles I have owned have been Chrysler products. And Dodge has never let me down in the past. So, as a loyal customer, I have one simple request. Could someone PLEASE tell me what is going on with my car? What is its status code, and what is the estimated date of manufacture? I understand if the date is not completely accurate, but I would like to know SOMETHING.

Here is my information:
Name: XXXX
VON: XXXX
VIN: XXXX
So lets see if the person on duty today is as generous as the one that helped Burcer and Fatcat.
