RE: Drove an auto black R/T today! Dissappointed at lack of power.
People are funny. For the past few years, ever since Chrysler unveiled the Challenger show car people have been crying and begging for them to build the new Challenger. Now we have our new Challenger and some people ARE still unhappy. If you were hoping for a 1970 Challenger......you had unreasonable expectations....in case you hadn't noticed....times have changed, and with it the musclecar. If you don't like the new Challenger.....DON"T BUY IT. I found that the dealer's doors opened both ways, and no one has a gun to your head! If you want a Ford or Chevy, then by all means buy one, but please stop crying about how the new Challenger is not what you expected......Chrysler told you all about the new Challenger, and even showed you what it would be like. So we all knew it would be big, and if you didn't, you were not paying attention. Chrysler couldn't afford to build a new platform from the ground up, and said so from the start. I would rather have what they offered even if it is a compromise, then to not have any Challenger at all. And perhaps some of you have forgotten that the 70 Challenger was a big and heavy pony car as well. It to was a compromise as Dodge built it on a modified B-body platform so that the 426 Hemi would fit the engine bay. AND, this new Challenger can do the quarter mile in 13 seconds, something my 70 440 Challenger had a hard time doing. AND the new Challenger handles better, AND rides much better as well! I give Chrysler credit for not making the same mistake they made with the Charger. Which by the way is a nice car....just not what I call a Charger, not with four doors. So if anyone is really unhappy with the new Challenger.....to bad, buy a 1970 and be happy. But stop telling us how disappointed you are with the Challenger.
Hot rodders don't complain, they overcome the problem and make it better! So make it better if you don't like it!
