One way is to burn it to a DVD recorder. Then explore the DVD drive for the vob file, then copy it to your thumb drive.
You will need something that can read a vob file type like WinDVD etc. Just know that VOB files can be rather large. Like a 30 second clip can easily be 64M.
Copying from a DVR to a thumb drive, well that capability has to be built in to your DVR.
